Lead-gen landing page: what makes up a page that brings in leads
A good landing page isn't about pretty design — it's about one clear offer and one goal: the lead. We break down the structure of a page that turns traffic into customers, and the mistakes that quietly kill conversion.
In short. A lead-gen landing page works when it has one offer, one goal and one action. A strong hero screen, benefits instead of a list of services, proof (case studies and numbers), objections handled, and a short form. Everything else pulls people away from the lead.
The anatomy of a landing page that converts
- Hero screen. Within 3 seconds a visitor should understand what you offer, who it's for and what to do next. A clear offer + a single call to action.
- Benefits, not services. Not "we do SEO," but "you get leads from search with no ad budget." People buy the result, not the process.
- Proof. Case studies, numbers, reviews, logos. Without trust there's no conversion — especially in B2B.
- Objection handling. "Too expensive," "too slow," "what if it doesn't work" — answer them upfront, before the person leaves.
- A simple form. Every extra field lowers conversion. Ask for the minimum — you'll find out the rest on the call.
- Repeat call to action. Don't make people scroll back: the CTA is repeated throughout the page.
Mistakes that kill leads
A vague offer
"Comprehensive solutions for your business" — says nothing. The visitor didn't get what you offer and left.
A long form
7 required fields on the first step — and conversion drops several times over. Start with a name and a contact.
No trust
Bold promises without a single case study, number or review read like an ad and inspire no confidence.
Off-target traffic
Sometimes the problem isn't the landing page but the source: if the wrong people come to the page, there'll be no leads no matter how good the layout is.
What a normal conversion rate looks like
For B2B and services, a healthy lead conversion rate is 2–5%. But the absolute number is secondary — what matters more is the cost and quality of the lead. A landing page with 2% on-target leads is more profitable than one with 8% off-target leads that never reach a deal.
In our Cyprus investment real estate case study, a visit → lead conversion of ~1.6% at an average deal of €2,000–20,000+ paid the channel back many times over. Look at the money, not just the percentages.
Landing page + traffic = a system
A beautiful landing page with no traffic is a shop window in an empty alley. And traffic without a converting page is a wasted budget. That's why we build both as a single system: a lead-gen page and an SEO channel that brings on-target people to it from search.
FAQ
What's a good landing page conversion rate?
For B2B and services — 2–5%. But the cost and quality of the lead matter more than a bare percentage.
Why isn't the landing page bringing in leads?
Usually because of a vague offer, a long form, a lack of proof, or off-target traffic. Start with a diagnosis, not a redesign.
How many fields should a form have?
The minimum for a first contact — a name and a way to reach you. The rest is clarified on the call. Every extra field lowers conversion.
